DESTINY VS CHOICE:The Big Lie in the Equation

The word Destiny is one of the most misunderstood
and misused words by many. The issue of destiny is
complex and requires a conscious effort before one
can understand it. First and foremost, what is Destiny
in lay man's understanding, it is a Godly mandate of
what God has said they will be in life but how does the oxford advance learner's dictionary define

Destiny, It say that it is what happens to somebody or
what will unavoidable happen to somebody in the
future, wikipedia corroborate this definition by saying
that Destiny is the events that will necessarily happen
to a particular person or thing in the future, by the above definitions one can say that Destiny is
sacrosanct meaning it cannot be changed, derailed or
improved, it is fixed only waiting for maturity date
and believers in

Destiny attribute it to be the act of
God but is this true? Did God actually create man in
robotic nature where he has no say or will power regarding what becomes of him and his affairs,
before we answer those questions let's consider
what CHOICE is, the same oxford advanced learner's
dictionary says that CHOICE is an act of choosing
between two or more possibilities or the right to
choose, which in essence means availability of multiple options.

Now let's come back to destiny which many believe
is God's indelible stamp of what they will be. In
Genesis 1vs26 there was a consensus before man
came into existence and after man became a living
being God in verse 28 blessed him and sent him forth
but not without warning as to what to avoid to ensure his comfort so in Genesis 2vs16-17 God
commanded man to enjoy the fruits of the trees in his
place of abode but the fruit of the tree in the centre of
the garden he should avoid it like a leper else he fall,
from the foregoing it was now the CHOICE Adam will
make either to avoid that tree and its fruit or eat of the fruit that will determine his future and
relationship with God in that paradise garden and not
his Destiny.

And in Genesis3vs1-7, the matriarch Eve
made that costly CHOICE of eating the Forbidden fruit
and his husband followed suit and that inglorious
choice shut them out of grace and favor from God's presence and they were driven out of their beautiful
home.

Now if destiny believed to be the act of God was real,
then  the disobedient act of Adam and Eve can be
excused and seen as the act of God who has destined
them to disobedience but the scripture says God does
not test men with evil neither is God tested with evil,
No work man labors to build with the intention to destroy what he has labored build and if any God
could not be such.

The proponents of destiny may posit and argue to
support their claim to the existential of destiny using
Bible characters like the Lord Jesus{the humble savior
of my soul}, Jeremiah, John the Baptist, Samson etc as
their examples of people destined, yes, the future of
these people were foretold, they were appointed to fulfil a divine mandate for a season and such is one of
the attributes of God's nature, at any point in time

God
can delegate, send or commission someone for a
particular mission after which he can release that
individual to carry on with his/her life, take for
example the virgin marry after the birth of our  Jesus, God released her to lead a normal married
family life, Jehu  a captain in king Ahab army was
appointed to rule to avenge the blood of Naboth
{against Ahab household} who was killed by Ahab
because of his father's vineyard, many such cases
abound so a lot of people see and compare and believe that these divine appointments are
destinies.

I repeat destiny by definition is sacrosanct,
indestructible, irredeemable and non amendable. The
fallacious belief in Destiny has made many redundant
and non progressive in life because they believe
there is something special God wants them to be, yet
they don't know it and how do you achieve what you don't know or aspire for.

The good{smart}choices we
fail to make or bad choices we make in life work 95%
to determine how life treats us. If one fails to be
pragmatic and do the right things at the right time
and utilise every God given opportunity no destiny
from anywhere can make him/her to be anything great or special.

God in Matt7vs7 said ask and it shall be given, seek ye shall
find and knock it shall be opened unto you, brotherly
that's a call and command to choose and not destiny,
if any refuse to ask, seek and knock, no door opens,
nothing will be found and nothing will be given, so in
essence it is what we ask that we receive, what we seek we find and the door we knock that opens and
not our destiny which we don't even know what it is.
